Paws & Play: Fostering Relationships Between Kids and Dogs

On the 8th of May, 2024, we had the fantastic Murilo Garcia for the first PBS Together webinar. In it, Murilo helped us discover how to foster a healthy relationship between children and dogs in their home. Also, we were able to learn how to assess key animal behaviours critical to this process, and explore various ways a dog can contribute to a child's development—such as teaching respect for boundaries, enhancing communication skills, and building empathy.

MEET THE PRESENTER

Murilo Garcia

Master in Psychology / Behaviour Analysis
Professional Dog Trainer

Murilo has been passionate about dogs since his childhood and is a tireless scholar. He has completed various courses and qualifications in canine training, as well as earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Behaviour Analysis.

As his life’s mission, he has chosen to help people and dogs coexist better. He is the co-creator of the Balance of Reinforcements System for dog training, a method that has gained widespread popularity in Brazil.

In addition to his work with his own companies, he conducts courses and provides training for dog trainers. He also served as the technical reviewer for the Portuguese translation of the book 'Dog Training for Dummies'.
