New Bundle: PBS Measurement & Data Essentials

Learn from writing operational descriptions, characterising measurable dimensions and distinguishing behaviour measures to designing valid and reliable measurement procedures, collecting, analysing, and presenting data.

A Complete Foundation in PBS Measurement & Data Essentials

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new PBS Essentials Series BUNDLE: PBS Measurement & Data Essentials — an interactive, immersive, and practical bundle designed for practitioners who want to strengthen their skills, from writing operational descriptions, characterising measurable dimensions, and distinguishing behaviour measures to designing valid and reliable measurement procedures, collecting, analysing, and presenting data.

From Functional Understanding to Meaningful Action
A critical part of effective behaviour support is being able to make informed decisions based on accurate and meaningful data. Yet practitioners may face challenges in clearly defining behaviours, selecting appropriate measures, collecting reliable data, and knowing how to interpret and use that information to guide practice.

To develop effective, evidence-based support, practitioners need to build a measurement system that accurately captures meaningful changes in behaviour and provides a reliable foundation for decision-making. How do we do this? By developing the skills to define, measure, analyse, and present behavioural data effectively.
To address these challenges, this bundle equips you with the skills to:
  • Write clear operational descriptions of target behaviours that meet the criteria for BSP-QEII Component 1 (describe the behaviours of concern)
  • Collect baseline data of behaviours of concern, utilising valid and reliable measurement procedures
  • Characterise measurable dimensions of behaviour
  • Distinguish among direct, indirect, and product measures of behaviour
  • Design a valid and reliable procedure for directly measuring behaviour
  • Analyse and present baseline data of behaviours of concern
Throughout the bundle, you will learn how to move from accurate measurement to meaningful, data-informed action, in order to conduct functional assessments and develop effective, person-centred behaviour support plans.
The result is a learning experience designed to help practitioners build a stronger foundation for accurate measurement, data-informed decision-making, and effective practice. Whether you are new to PBS measurement or looking to consolidate your foundational knowledge, this bundle brings together SIX essential courses:
 2 HOURS
Operationally Defining Behaviours of Concern
Learn how to write clear operational descriptions of target behaviours that meet the criteria for BSP-QEII Component 1 (describe the behaviours of concern), in order to conduct a functional assessment and develop a behaviour support plan.
John Wooderson & Helder Gusso
 1 HOURS
Valid and Reliable Measurement of Behaviour
Learn how to collect baseline data of behaviours of concern, utilising valid and reliable measurement procedures in order to conduct a functional assessment and developing a behaviour support plan.
John Wooderson & Helder Gusso
 2 HOURS
Dimensions of Behaviour
Learn to characterise measurable dimensions of behaviour, in order to collect behaviour data and conduct a functional assessment.
John Wooderson & Helder Gusso
 2 HOURS
Direct and Indirect Behaviour Measures
Learn how to distinguish among direct, indirect, and product measures of behaviour, in order to collect data and developing a behaviour support plan.
John Wooderson & Helder Gusso
 4 HOURS
Designing Procedures to Collect Data
Design a valid and reliable procedure for directly measuring behaviour, in order to conduct a functional assessment and developing a behaviour support plan.
Helder Gusso & John Wooderson
 2 HOURS
Graphing Data
Learn how to analyse and present baseline data of behaviours of concern, in order to conduct a functional assessment and developing a behaviour support plan.
John Wooderson & Helder Gusso
The bundle is designed to provide a coherent learning pathway: beginning with understanding how behaviour is measured, progressing to designing effective measurement procedures and collecting reliable data, and then applying these skills to analyse and present data to support informed, evidence-based decision-making and effective practice.
Learn at Your Own Pace
Flexible online learning designed around your schedule. All courses are 100% online and self-paced, giving you the flexibility to learn when and where it suits you.

Work through the course at your own pace, revisit important concepts whenever needed, and fit your learning around your professional and personal commitments.

Immersive, Interactive and Practice-Focused Learning
Go beyond passive learning with engaging, interactive courses designed to connect theory with real-world practice. Explore authentic scenarios, practical examples, case-based activities, and interactive learning experiences that help you understand key concepts and apply them to situations you may encounter in professional practice.

Learn at your own pace while progressively building the knowledge, skills, and professional judgement needed to support people effectively, ethically, and respectfully.
Practitioner Focused Design
Created by practitioners, for practitioners. Our courses are designed around the realities of professional practice. The courses focus on the knowledge and skills practitioners need to develop accurate behaviour measurement skills, design reliable measurement procedures, and collect, analyse, and present data to support informed, evidence-based decision-making in contemporary practice settings.

Rather than focusing only on theoretical concepts, we connect foundational knowledge to practical decision-making and real-world contexts — helping you understand not only what to do, but how to do and why it matters.
Learn with Experts
Learn from professionals with expertise in Positive Behaviour Support, behaviour analysis, and related fields. Our courses draw on contemporary research, professional practice, and internationally recognised principles to provide learning that is both accessible and relevant.

Whether you are new to PBS or looking to strengthen your existing knowledge, you’ll gain insights that can support more thoughtful, person-centred, and rights-based practice.
Test Your Knowledge and Earn a Certificate
Before starting each course, you’ll complete a knowledge assessment designed to establish a baseline of your current understanding. After completing the learning activities, you’ll take the same assessment again.

The pre- and post-course results are collected to evaluate the effectiveness of the course and measure learning outcomes.

You’ll also have opportunities to review the course content and retake assessments as needed, supporting a learning experience focused on development rather than simply passing a test.

Once you successfully complete the required assessments, you’ll receive a digital Certificate of Completion, recognising your completion of the course and the corresponding 13 learning hours.
Start Your PBS Learning Journey
Whether you are beginning your journey in Positive Behaviour Support or looking to strengthen your professional foundations, the PBS Essentials Series provides a structured and accessible starting point.

Six courses. Thirteen hours of learning. One comprehensive foundation in PBS Measurement & Data Essentials.

Learn the foundations. Strengthen your practice. Promote better outcomes.
